"content": "Hon. Temporary Speaker, it was Big Yellow Taxi featuring Vanessa Carlton that sung that they took all the trees and put them in a museum and they charged a dollar and a half for people to see them and they were mourning and saying, “Don't it all seem to go that we do not know what we have, till it’s gone?.” We are mourning the drying of our city, the drying of our country, the effects of climate change because of the trees that we are cutting down. So, I am bringing this Motion at a time when the President is committing to planting five billion trees in five years in this country. However, if you go to places like Kiambu and Kisii, you will see that the farms are the size of a handkerchief. People cannot afford land for cultivation, land for tree planting, and even for burying their dead. So, we are talking about planting trees at a time when there is a big competition for the land resource, therefore, we have to be innovative."
