    "content": "(2) Provide details of contracts signed between the Government and Independent Power Producers (IPPs), detailing the implications of the contractual agreements on affordability of electricity in the country. (3) Explain why counties in Northern Kenya that are host to some of the IPPs do not benefit from the electricity generated in the region which is instead powered to other parts of the country. (4) Inform the Senate if there are plans by the Government to totally switch to renewable sources of energy to power the country electricity grid as a way of reducing the carbon footprint and provide a timeline for the same. (5) State plans, if any, by the Government to reduce the cost of electricity in the country as a way of addressing the high cost of living. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir."
