    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I also rise to support the Report by the Joint Select Committee. I urge hon. Members of this House that the shortlisted candidates meet the requirements, but we need to do away with the narrative that these slots are a bureau for employment. This House will be judged by citizens across the EAC based on the kind of people we select to go and represent us there. Secondly, someone like me would have never made it to this Senate had I not been given a platform. I, therefore, request Members to consider young people and women. So long as they have the capability and needed qualifications, they fit the bill to be in that House. I thank you."
