"content": "I want to echo what my colleagues have said and also laud Hon. Kiarie, who is my great friend; that, indeed, this is a timely Motion. We should not just be hearers, as the Bible says, but doers. We have to be people who live by what we say. We want those in the Executive, and more so those who are concerned in the various ministries, to listen so that they know what the Members of this House are saying. We do not want a situation where the Chair says, “As many as are of this opinion say “Aye”, we say “Aye” and then when the Chair says, “The Ayes have it”, it becomes the dead end of the story. That will be horrible. Even according to the Book of Heaven, it will not be right for the people sitting in the Executive. They must know that Hon. Kiarie is talking about trees. If it is the Cabinet Secretary for Roads, Transport and Public Works; or the Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Forestry who are responsible for the implementation of this proposal, they must also call Hon. Kiarie and say, “We want to know what you are talking about. We are keen on your Motion. How can we partner to make sure that trees are planted on road reserves and other areas?” This is because this is a noble cause for our country. With those remarks, I support the Motion. Thank you, yours truly, Titus Khamala Bishop."
