Members, on Tuesday this week, when we debated the issue of the appointment of the Clerk of the National Assembly, at one point there was a Member at the back who was frantically waving hands and gesturing at the Chair and I did call out the Member as the Woman Representative for Mombasa to order. I have since learnt that, in fact, the Member who was looking disorderly, waving hands and gesturing was the Woman Representative for Kwale and not Mombasa. The Member for Mombasa has come to the Speaker’s Chamber to put the record straight. She, in fact, share with me her constituents’ sentiments, who were accosting her to ask why she should be rowdy in the House. I tendered a regret to her and explained that both the two Members are always heavily veiled and it is very hard to identify them with clarity and distinction. To the Hon. Member of Mombasa, the matter to which your name and designation was mentioned is hereby ordered to be expunged from The Hansard and the matter will be treated as if it was never said. The Speaker’s direction to the Member for Mombasa should now be transferred and assigned to the Member for Kwale, Ms. Masito Fatuma Hamisi."
