Speaker, despite reporting this grave matter to Twitter management as well as head of cybercrimes security section in the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the account is yet to be pulled down from the social media platform. In spite of the measures put in place to cushion users, many people are being duped and others unknowingly retweet and spread fake news. This House is called the august House for a reason. As a reminder, State officers are expected to behave professionally and ethically. This fake Twitter account creates the wrong impression. The account’s sole intention is to impersonate me and spread misinformation. I urge the members of the public to desist from any engagement with this account. Please, note that I distance myself from the contents of the said account. Thank you, Hon. Speaker."
