    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for the opportunity to contribute to this very important Motion. Everywhere in the country, village elders are the unsung heroes. Rarely are they recognised or appreciated for what they do. The functions they perform across the country include arbitration, mediation and reconciliation at the lowest level of administration in our country. It is, therefore, critical and important that we consider them for payment by the Government. In my Constituency of Bonchari, at least 80 per cent of disputes – be they matrimonial, land-related cases, or petty crimes – are resolved by village elders.
