"content": "Anyway, on a serious note CS Soipan, the Deputy President hon. Rigathi Gachagua will be the chief guest. I will host you. Do not worry about the bills. I will take care of them, including those of the Deputy President. We would like you to make the day a success. We are coming to plant trees. Kakamega Forest is the last remaining tropical forest after the Guinea-Congo Equatorial Forest. It is a success because it is a natural forest. We would like you to move away from the plantation forests because they are not diverse. Their ecology is poor. The late hon. Professor Wangari Maathai died and that was a legacy. Today you are becoming CS for Environment and Forestry when we have got 3.5 hectares of forest land. As you exit, we would like to have doubled that number. We will give you space to grow forests in Western Kenya. Before I forget, we have Mt. Elgon Forest in Bungoma. It is the most abused forest, but nobody talks about it. Why? This is because the Provincial Administration, senior officials and other civil servants in Nairobi do logging there and there is nobody to complain. Mt. Elgon is starting to look very ugly while it used to be very beautiful. I was thinking that Sen. Sifuna will be speaking about Mt. Elgon because that is his home. However, as they do, he has now migrated to the city. We do not even know whether he will get married. It is a big problem. With those many remarks, I support the appointment."
