Agnes Kavindu Muthama, MP Madam Temporary Speaker, this should bring to a close the business of setting up various committees of the Senate. We began this work last week on Thursday but we did not conclude the debate because many Members wanted to speak at that particular time. In fact, I recall that I owe Sen. (Prof.) Tom Ojienda and another Member. I promised them that when we resume today, although I do not have such powers, I will be their advocate in ensuring that they get the opportunity to make comments on how committees have been set up. I remember we were running short of time and they were magnanimous enough to agree to drop their requests to speak at that particular time, so that they are given the opportunity today to make comments about the general feelings about how the SBC has set up various committees of the Senate. Madam Temporary Speaker, we dealt with 14 standing committees. Today we are dealing with three sessional committees. We have Senators with diverse backgrounds and giftings. There are many attributes about each of the Senators that has been carefully selected to serve in each of these three committees."
