    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I was seeking your attention because this is a very important matter. All matters here are important but this is really a serious issue. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare on the plight of Kenyan migrant workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Middle East. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Appraise the Senate on the measures the national Government has put in place in response to the matter of abuse of migrant workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Middle East. (2) State the particulars of the employment agencies responsible for the processing of immigrant workers, giving details of the nature of contracts the workers are asked to sign.
