"content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the officers were being paid as per the regulations that have been in existence. The exercise that has brought about the changes was basically carried out to harmonise the disparities that existed between the Civil Service, in which the police are included, and the TSC. That is why we said that with effect from July, 2010, all public officers comprising of civil servants, police officers and teachers, will be brought together. There will be two benchmarks â Kshs5,000 for officers serving in moderately hardship areas and Kshs10,000 for those serving in extreme hardship areas â irrespective of oneâs marital status or job group."
