I think this was put in place when their salaries were far way below what they earn today. They are entitled to 30 per cent of their basic salaries, but to a maximum of Kshs600 for single officers and Kshs1,200 for married officers. Under the current circumstances, as you put it, there are, indeed, so many officers who would be entitled to much more than what they currently earn. The cap is there, but that is being changed now. That is the way I understand it."
