    "content": "I have vied for this position five times, and I thank the Almighty God for giving me the opportunity. I am grateful to the people of Sotik, Kipsonoi, Chemagel, Kapletundo, Ndanai Abosi, Rongena and Manaret wards. I pay special tribute to my family, who have stood with me all the five times I vied for this position. It has not been easy. I also want to thank my campaign team for making it possible for me to come here. I want to thank the President of this Republic for making it as a hustler. The two people currently in the highest office have a unique history. His Excellency Dr. William Ruto was a chicken seller; whereas His Excellency the Deputy President was a Mau Mau fighters’ child. I am happy that I will be a classic example of people who have worked for so many years and made it. His Excellency the Deputy President, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua, has come from the same historical background as me; he was in the Administration, and he has proved that anyone who has worked in Government can make it to the national level. I want to mention that His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto is the 5th President and I am the 5th Member of Parliament of Sotik; so we are both the 5th and I have tried to be elected five times making it a triple 5. I want to contribute on the President’s Speech, particularly on the issue of agriculture. A Government which values the people should invest in agriculture. It is the cure of two things; food security and debt situation of the country. If expenditure on importation of food is reduced, then the public debt would reduce. I want to congratulate you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for your election as the Deputy Speaker. You are a great lady from our area. I also want congratulate Hon. Moses Wetang’ula, who is the Speaker and whom I know and have worked with. I believe both of you can deliver in this country. Thank you."
