Deputy Speaker, pursuant to the provisions of the Standing Order 44(2)(c), I seek a statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Affairs regarding the delay in issuance of National Identity Cards to the new applicants in Marsabit County. The predicament faced by the new applicants in obtaining identity cards due to their ethnicity is so discriminatory and further demonstrates how the delay may endanger the well- being of the applicants and their families.
