"content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, the clarification sought by hon. Chepkitony as to how come we do not have a uniform deployment of security officers for all Members of Parliament irrespective of whether they are Ministers, Vice-President, Prime Minister or Minister, I think in a way, we have to take cognisance of the fact that there are Members of Parliament, or even personalities in this country, who by virtue of their own positions, are actually much more exposed to insecurity. Now, this is not a practice that only obtains in this country. It is an international practice, and I do not think that we would say that since the President is also a Member of Parliament, he too should actually be accorded only one security officer. That is never done anywhere in the world. I would like to say that the more responsibility one has, the more exposed one is. Indeed, even after you retire from being a President, that exposure does not diminish that much."
