    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to start by congratulating Sen. Wakoli for his deserved victory to become the Senator for Bungoma County. I participated in the campaigns in Bungoma and I know how hectic and competitive it was. So, for Sen. Wakoli to have won, is not a small achievement. Indeed, it is a big achievement. I also thank the people of Bungoma County for conducting peaceful elections that have produced a Senator. My advice to Sen. Wakoli is that as my colleagues have put it, he is coming in to feel big shoes left behind by the Speaker of the National Assembly and the former Senator for Bungoma, Hon. Wetangula. In addition to that, we are all aware that the work of a Senator is to provide oversight in the counties. Sen. Wakoli is coming in to provide oversight on a Governor who has been a Governor before. He was the Speaker of this House and went back again to be a Governor. That means he has to work extra hard to oversight Governor Lusaka. Some of us know the history of Bungoma County. The predominant community in Bungoma County is the Bukusu and it has been known to produce some of the best leaders in this country. We have had people like Michael Kijana Wamalwa, George Kapten, Mukhisa Kituyi, Masinde Muliro and now Hon. Wetangula. So, being a Senator of that county---"
