    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for the opportunity to contribute to this Bill. I am part of the team that went through the Bill that came from the National Assembly. I am the Chairperson of the Committee that the Bill was committed to. While we appreciate the importance of the Selection Panel to the IEBC commissioners, we must also appreciate the importance of the history that we have had as a country. The history that has led us to where we are is very important to the decisions that we are going to make. As the Chairperson of that Committee, it is important for me to lay out the process; where we have come from up to where we are. The Committee of this House, where this Bill was committed to, received the Report on 8th December, 2022. This House sat and the Bill was thereafter committed to the Standing Committee to deal with the considerations."
