In a nutshell, it means that any proposal that Senators have regarding the Budget Policy Statement, Division of Revenue Bill and the County Allocation of Revenue Bill, including funds for additional allocations to the counties, the financing structure thereof, among other recommendations, should be canvassed and forwarded to the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury for consideration, when finalizing the budget for the relevant Financial Year. This is a requirement pursuant to Section 25 (8) of the Public Finance Management Act and Standing Order 186 (9) of the Senate. Hon.
