    "content": "Hon. Members, take your seats. Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 42 (1), I wish to report to the House that I have received a Message from His Excellency the President regarding the nomination of a person for appointment as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK). In the Message, His Excellency the President conveys that in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 13 (b) of the Central Bank of Kenya Act, Cap. 491 as read together with Section 5 of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act, 2011, he nominates Dr Susan Jemutai Koech to the position of Deputy Governor of the CBK. The President, therefore, seeks approval of the Parliament on the said nomination. Hon. Members, Section 13 (b) of the Central Bank of Kenya Act reads, “There shall be two Deputy Governors who shall be appointed by the President through a transparent and competitive process and with the approval of Parliament.”"
