    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for giving me an opportunity to also support this Motion. His Excellency the President has asked this Parliament to consider amending the Constitution so that we can achieve more, especially the first one on the two-thirds gender principle. I am just imagining what would have happened if the former President did exactly what the Chief Justice had requested him to do – to dissolve Parliament due to this constitutional anomaly – this country would have been plunged into a constitutional crisis. As Hon. Shollei has just said, the 13th Parliament is not excepted from that Supreme Court’s ruling. That ruling is still lying on the desk of the current President. Therefore, I support the request by the President so that we can implement the two-thirds gender principle. Hon. Temporary Speaker, I also want to comment on the matter of creating the Office of the Leader of the Opposition. This is necessary so that he can use the platform of Parliament to criticise the Government. I wish to congratulate His Excellency the President. As we know, many people and many leaders do not like to be criticised but he has proposed that the Opposition be given a platform so that they can criticise the Government. I support the proposal for creating the Office of the Leader of the Opposition. It is necessary. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
