"content": " Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for this opportunity. I do not come from a coffee-growing area but I love the smell and taste of coffee. It is true that Parliament has a responsibility and the leeway to look at these regulations. If they do not work for the common wananchi, Parliament has the power to nullify them. However, listening to the Leader of the Majority Party, it seems that his sole reason for wanting to nullify these regulations is the fact that Hon. Munya was the one who spearheaded the introduction of regulations. I want to emphatically say that if we want to relook at these regulations, it must be in the interest of Kenyans because Kenya belongs to Kenyans. We know that some quarters think that Kenya belongs to just a certain segment of Kenyans. I want to say that if we are going to nullify these regulations, that decision must be driven by the benefit it is going to have on all Kenyan coffee farmers."
