Deputy Speaker, it is high time that the rights and dignity of female workers is upheld and respected by male bosses in tea estates and it is against this background that I seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Labour on the following: 1. Could the Chairperson provide concrete information on the allegations of sexual harassment of female workers in the various tea estates in Kericho County? 2. Could the Chairperson explain what measures the Government is putting in place to protect the rights of female workers in these tea estates? 3. Could the Chairperson explain measures the Government is putting in place to ensure these tea estates adhere to labour laws and implement policy on sexual harassment? 4. Could the Chairperson consider carrying out investigations into these heinous acts, ensure culpable perpetrators are brought to book and justice is served to the victims? I thank you, Hon.
