We are giving this proposed Authority powers of the police to seize property and collect evidence when there is no protection at all for the person being investigated. This creates an opportunity for abuse of office. Unless there is a requirement that police officers be attached to the Authority for purposes of investigation, I think it will be very wrong to allow the Authority to exercise police powers without any form of experience in matters relating to collection of evidence, preservation of evidence and prosecution of offences."
