"content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to this debate. This is one of those Motions which are open-ended. I served in this House during the 10th Parliament under the old Constitution. I am proud to be one of the Members who participated in the process of putting in place the current constitutional dispensation. When the Draft Constitution was released in 2010, there was no consensus. Some people were saying that we must amend the draft first so that we pass a good constitution while others were saying that the draft should be passed as it was and then we go ahead to amend it and correct the mistakes contained therein. The then President made a very strong move. Although the Constitution was finally passed, we made the point that there were some things which needed to be corrected in the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. More than 10 years down the line, I am happy that this debate is finally here with us. I think there is no better time than now for us to make those corrections. We have been implementing the Constitution over the last 10 years. We now know its strengths and weaknesses. I thank the President for being bold enough to say that we can relook at the Constitution now. I note that the President has limited his recommendations to three or four items but, as a House, we should be broad and look at the Constitution in its entirety to see whether we should stick to the three amendments or we should look at other areas of the Constitution and propose other amendments.
