"content": "I would like to thank the Members of the Committee and indeed the House for the steadfast commitment that saw the conclusion of this very important business. It is expected that the House will today consider the Sixth Report of the Procedure and House Rules Committee on amendments to the Standing Orders. I look forward to the debate on these proposed changes that if approved by the House, will see Cabinet Secretaries appearing before the House to answer Questions by Members. This will be a positive step towards greater accountability by the Executive as well as an enhancement of the oversight processes of the House. I, therefore, urge Members to be present and actively participate in this important business. Hon. Deputy Speaker, without anticipating debate, it is expected that the House will conclude the general debate on proposals to amend the Constitution and the Standing Orders today afternoon. Should this not happen, the general debate will form part of the business for Tuesday next week. The same will apply to the debate on the Report of the 22nd Session of the Organisation of the African Assembly and the Second Reading of the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill, National Assembly Bill No. 60 of 2022. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor."
