    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, all of us agree that one of the most challenging tasks facing this Parliament and this nation was how to deal with the management of the elections in the country. Indeed, one of the key triggers of the very ugly scenes at the end of 2007/2008 was the failure of our elections management body at that time. From then up to-date, we have been taking one step after the other to try and come back from those dark days to a position where I believe if today this House approves these names, we will have an election management body that this country can be proud of. We have gone through the reforms of the laws as far as elections are concerned. We have done the soul searching through the Kriegler Commission and other Commissions, and time has now come for us to give this task to men and women who are able, willing and capable of handling this task."
