    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries regarding the distribution of subsidized fertilizer in Laikipia County. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) State the number of farmers in the county who have benefited from the National Fertilizer Subsidy Programme since the programme began, stating the percentage of eligible farmers these numbers represent. (2) Elaborate how the programme has been implemented stating the areas covered. (3) State measures in place to ensure that smallholder farmers in remote areas of Laikipia County have access to the fertilizer, stating the current status of fertilizer stocks in the county. (4) Disclose the points of fertilizer distribution, outlining measures, if any, to address the challenges of transportation in the remote areas of Laikipia County. (5) State measures, if any, to monitor the impact of the fertilizer distribution programme on the overall agricultural productivity and food security in the county, stating plans, if any, to evaluate and improve the programme based on this data.
