"content": " Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Petition. I also want to take this opportunity to welcome students from Kaai Secondary School from my constituency who are in this House today. Matinga Dam is very important to Kitui. Desilting and preservation are very important for the people of Kitui. Kitui still experiences inadequate water, over and above the current provision. Kitui still needs more water resources to enable us supply more water for drinking and irrigation. Therefore, continued silting will dry up the dam and elevate the problem of scarcity of water. Desilting should, therefore, be done very quickly as a matter of priority. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
