    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise to support the Statement by the Senator in terms of increasing the number of police stations, posts and patrol bases. Mr. Speaker, Sir, when you increase the number of police stations, you will increase the number of police officers in different areas. We can propose that every sub- location should have either a police station or a police post, to enhance security in those areas. It is not only in Kirinyaga County, but also, other areas, especially that are prone to banditry and insecurity like Kerio-Valley. I know some communities across the country have put up police stations, posts and patrol bases using their own resources, or through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) or county funds. However, a majority of them, especially in North-Rift, have not been gazetted. The National Police Service (NPS) has also not posted police officers who would assist to enhance security in those areas. This is very important. Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is good to note that the Constitution mandates the Government to ensure that the lives of people and their property are secured and protected."
