    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, the importance of the health sector and the health workers cannot be gainsaid. The other day, I was attending the opening of the first Intensive Care Unit (ICU) facility in Nairobi City County by the current County Government. One of the glaring issues that came from the public is the quality of healthcare that we have in our hospitals. The fact of the matter is that the health workers are not motivated. It was claimed that public health workers are not delivering, are idling in hospitals and their attitude is wrong. On the flipside, I took time with the health workers. The public health workers claimed that their terms of service are not met. They work under deplorable environment, their wages are not as is supposed to be, they are not motivated and their working hours are long. Which happens to be true. It is very important that we look into the welfare of the health workers."
