    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I stand to seek this Statement on behalf of the nominated Senator, Sen. Ogolla, from Kisumu County, on the status of Ruma and Kodera forests in Homa Bay County. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a statement from the Standing Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources regarding the status of Ruma and Kodera forests in Homa Bay County. In the Statement the Committee should- (1) Appraise the Senate on the circumstances that led to the massive cut down of trees in the forests and state who approved the deforestation. (2) State when reafforestation is to commence in the two forests. That is the end of the Statement. Thank you."
