    "content": "I am worried that if we take away Wednesday, we will not be able to clear the backlog we have. In that case, we will permanently request for leave in order to handle the numerous reports we have in the County Public Accounts Committee (CPAC) and County Public Investments Committee (CPIC). I want to urge Members to be objective and wise in this matter. We may do things in a hurry to impress our political bosses, but I can guarantee you that in future this will come to haunt us. This is a matter where if one went to court, he would easily get orders against it. Do we want to be a Parliament that will be injuncted by the courts on its own Standing Orders? We need to ask ourselves this one question. Madam Temporary Speaker, I am totally opposed to these amendments to the Standing Orders and I will vote against the Standing Orders. I can see my friend, Sen. Cheruiyot, is smiling, but I want to inform him that there is need to have Cabinet Secretaries appearing before the House, but let us do it in the right manner. If we want to amend the Constitution, this side of the House is ready. We support the idea of Cabinet Secretaries coming to answer questions, but let us follow the right procedure and do it constitutionally. Madam Temporary Speaker, I oppose these amendments."
