    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I would like to put across that my Statement had been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. It was very timely to make it during the drought. Nonetheless, I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No.52(1) to make a Statement on a matter of regional concern namely, the water crisis in northern parts of Kenya. For decades now, water scarcity has been a major issue in northern parts of this country, mainly caused by years of recurrent droughts, poor management of water supply, contamination of the available water, and a sharp increase in water demand resulting from relatively high population growth."
