University of Embu; 27. Alupe University; 28. University of Eldoret, where the second term of the chancellor expires on 14th July, 2023; and, 29. Meru University of Science and Technology, where the second term of the chancellor is in July, 2023. Hon. Deputy Speaker, it is against this background that I seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Education on the following: 1. Could the Chairperson explain measures that the Government has put in place to fast-track the appointment of university chancellors for the affected universities within the shortest time possible to ensure that the legality of the degrees being conferred are not challenged in courts of law? 2. Could the Chairperson provide a timeline within which the chancellors of the said universities, particularly Pwani University, will be appointed as set out in the Second Schedule of the Universities Act, 2012? Hon. Deputy Speaker, I seek the statement as the Member for Kilifi North. Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker."
