    "content": "he should block the proliferation of fish from outside and defend the fishing industry so that the local Kenyans and markets can enjoy. These are some of the tasks that are awaiting this individual as I support him to take office. Finally, Lake Victoria is thoroughly infested by the water hyacinth. You cannot get fish from Lake Victoria until you deal with it. It has to be removed. The efforts that were made by the previous Government’s administration have stopped. Once the hyacinth takes over the lake, it makes it look like a field where you can play football and fish cannot thrive. There is another model type of fishing that has arrived in Lake Victoria called ‘caging’. I do not know if you have heard about it, Hon. Temporary Speaker. This is the type that later contributed to mass deaths of fish. We do not know whether it is the caging that has polluted the lake or it is the lake itself that polluted the caging. This is a matter that is also lying on his table and awaits him to deal with so that this industry is promoted. I chose to speak on the task and things that affect fishermen in this country which our very able nominee, approved by Parliament, will have to deal with as he arrives in office and sanitise the industry.
