Other than writing letters, we have changed the management of the Government Printer because we also believe that part of the challenge is the innovation of the leadership at that unit to provide off-balance sheets and off-budget solutions to some of the capacity challenges we are experiencing. I can comfortably report that after changing the management at the Government Printer, in the last two months, the new management has tabled - and I have approved - an equipment modernisation programme which will not even involve the Government spending any money because it is through a lease of equipment where over time, we will pay whoever owns those machines. After 10 years, we will hand over the machines back to him. That was the solution that helped us with police vehicles when the police-vehicle-leasing programme was initiated. We believe that that will be tackled very soon. In the meantime, we have asked the Department of Civil Registration to give the Government Printer the projections for the rest of the year. We are working to see how, pending the modernisation programme that I am talking about, that demand can be met as soon as possible."
