Temporary Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 170(4)(c)(i), the Committee recommends that the House approves the Ratification of the African Union Treaty for the Establishment of the African Medicines Agency. The justification is that the African Union Treaty for establishment of AMA facilitates the realisation of universal health coverage through improved regulations of medical products. This will ultimately facilitate the realisation of the right to the highest attainable standard of health as guaranteed under Article 43 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010."
