I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on National Security Defence and Foreign Relations regarding the need to protect the identity of Kenyans visiting public buildings and business premises. In the Statement, the Committee should: (1) Justify why many businesses do not protect the identity of members of the public when they require security guards to collect and retain original identification documents at the entrance of buildings they visit rather than noting the names and ID numbers and returning the documents."
