"content": "The contract period was 12 months that ran from 29th June 2020 to 29th June 2021. It has since been completed, wound up and contractor demobilised. Regarding the delays, the initial project had several challenges. There was the provision of relocation of services, as well as provisions in the quantities of access culverts. I must admit that there were disruptions in water supplies and street lighting due to the damaging of the infrastructure during construction. This is a common occurrence in the road construction projects. However, the contractor did everything possible to restore the water supplies and the street lighting within the given time. He also installed several access culverts to the affected households. The provision of access culverts may not have been adequate. To this end, KURA is looking for funds to address the inadequacies. The key issue about this Question is to note that the specifications of the infrastructure were not done the way the Ministry of Roads, Transport and Public Works does because it was a project under State Department of Housing and Urban Development. Therefore, to address the remaining inadequacies, once KURA gets funds, they will continue from where this contractor left. However, we can confirm that he completed his work. I suppose, in a combined way, I have answered all the stalled project questions. I thank you, Hon. Speaker."
