    "content": " Hon. Temporary Speaker, thank you for giving me this opportunity to ventilate on this very serious issue. I rise to defend the rights of women. Hon. Beatrice Kemei has brought up timely issues by this Motion. I come from that region. I know there have been many malpractices going on in the tea estates. While I condemn what was reported in the BBC, I ask the Government to take serious action on the perpetrators who were very brave to do what they were doing. This House must stand to defend our women. We have seen our women suffer because of poverty and not being paid by these tea estates. We appeal to the Government to look at this matter, particularly the issue of payment. Let us know how much the tea estates pay. These women are surviving from hand to mouth, and yet they have children. They are suffering. I would like to see the perpetrators taken to court and the law taking its course. I have seen many of these issues being raised, but for a long time, they have been swept under the carpet. I thank the people who revealed this.
