    "content": "The exploration of minerals in Kakamega County is quite high. The level of toxicity and minerals in water is something that should worry this country. It is above international standards. I am a member of the Standing Committee on Health, and I hope that when we shall look at this, we shall dig deeper. I hope that the Committee can investigate further on whether the Ministry of Health (MoH) and, to a great extent, the National Intelligence Service (NIS) has a topographic details on the metals that exist underneath which should concern this country. We see many mysterious diseases. Your teeth can be discoloured to a point where when you try to bite some meat, they just disappear because of the issue of discoloration of your teeth resulting from the water that you drink. Water is something most of us do not really look into. However, it is something that should be of concern to us. We have turned this country into one that depends on pesticides. We have moved away from organic matters. All these agricultural activities on a daily basis, especially when you spread fertilizers and pesticides on the agricultural land end up seeping and the toxicity infects and destroy our water sources."
