Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 44(2)(b), and as the Chairperson of the Committee on Regional Integration, I rise to make a statement regarding the unfolding security situation in Sudan. As Members may be aware, Kenya and Sudan are both members of the regional bloc known as the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD), a regional body that has increasingly become a critical component in Eastern Africa’s integration efforts."
