    "content": "We are extremely concerned by the fighting that has broken out in Sudan, leading to the loss of hundreds of lives, massive destruction of property and the displacement of many civilians. The fighting is in its 11th day, posing serious humanitarian crisis and the shutdown of vital supplies like provision of water, electricity, food supplies and medical services in the affected regions. As a House, we recognise that peaceful coexistence and stability in the Republic of Sudan is key to the social and economic progress of the entire region. There is urgent need, therefore, to contain the situation, because we would not wish for this to be further exacerbated by war in an IGAD member State, thus destabilising regional peace and security. With the escalating conflict, foreign countries have started evacuating their nationals from Sudan.
