If you go to the churches and organisations that were registered in the 1990s and 1980s…. Let me not talk about the mainstream churches like the Anglican Church of Kenya and the Catholic Church. Other churches like the Redeemed Gospel Church, Deliverance Church and other ministries that came carry themselves with great integrity because there was a threshold. If you look at the work that is being done by the NIS right now, it is shoddy, in terms of intelligence gathering before a church is registered. It was not easy to register a church during the days of President Moi who was a church man. He had nothing against the church but it was tight. Before a religious organisation was registered, they knew the people who would run the church and agenda before they could put it on paper and license it to operate."
