"content": "With regard to the impact on the Kenya Shilling, I would like to reiterate that we peg our shilling to the dollar most of the time. In my remarks, I acknowledged that the shilling has taken a beating. I mentioned the factors that led to that depreciation, but efforts are now being put in place to stabilise the shilling. For example, there is the government-to-government programme which will ease pressure on the shilling in the short-term. I have also indicated that the National Treasury is deeply engaged with our development partners. We anticipate that in the next few weeks or months, we could also benefit from some in-flows of support from these development partners. This will go a long way in helping to deal with the depreciating shilling against other currencies."
