    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for protecting me. This is what I said: ‘‘Right now, if you took a police officer to a group of ten people, I am sure that nine of them will not support him because of their work.’’ In Turkana East Constituency, the police officers no longer go to work. The officers at the moment do not go out to perform their roles and it is not because of lack of support. They have just completely changed from the officers we used to know. They used to do their work even at night. Nowadays, they give a lot of excuses to the public that they do not have vehicles and fuel and yet, it is in this House that we passed the laws to hire vehicles for the officers. Those vehicles are well maintained at all times with fuel every month, but you do not see them doing their job as they used to do in the olden days without cars. This is the right time for us to have such a kind of person in that Commission. We need to bring change so that officers can do the right job for the people of this country. I support the Report of the Committee because of the good testimonies that are attributed to the nominee for this position. I hope my colleagues will support the nominee to get this job, so that he can change the characters of the police officers that we have in this country."
