    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for this opportunity to also make a comment on this Petition. First, I thank the petitioners for choosing to bring this matter to the Floor of the Senate. That is in itself a manifestation of the faith and confidence that the people of Kajiado have in this Senate. They believe that this matter will be better canvassed here. Without going into the details of this Petition, there is a matter that, as the Senate of the Republic of Kenya, we need to address ourselves to. There are issues that come before us, which in my honest and humble opinion, should be, first, canvassed by the county assemblies. I say this for a reason. One of the roles and responsibilities of the Senate is to help build the capacity of our respective county assemblies, so that matters that county assemblies can handle are handled there. If they are not resolved, then they can come to the Senate and we deal with them. I support the Petition and hope that the Committee, to which this Petition will be referred to, will do a good job and ensure that justice is done. Mr. Speaker, Sir, with your indulgence, while I was away undertaking other important issues of this nation, a delegation visited this Senate from Kitui County Assembly.
