"content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order 53(1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Education regarding payment of teachers who invigilated and marked the 2022 KCPE and KCSE examinations. In the Statement, the Committee should – (1) Explain why the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has not paid the teachers who supervised, invigilated and marked the 2022 KCPE and KCSE exams despite concluding the exercise more than four months ago. (2) State the steps KNEC intends to take to have the teachers paid without any further delays. (3) Recommend long-term redress measures to ensure that KNEC makes timely payments to the teachers whom it contracts for supervision, invigilation and marking of national examinations. Thank you."
