"content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Senator for Lamu County brought a very useful Statement, which I thought he would dignify so that we can get a solution to the problems facing the people of Lamu. It is on the issue of compulsory acquisition, broken promises and the marginalization of the people of Lamu over the years. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would ordinarily have responded to Sen. Cherarkey’s preamble before he went into the substantive issues. In fact, I would have encouraged Sen. Osotsi to ignore Sen. Cherarkey and treat his comments with the contempt that they deserve because he does not speak for the Majority side. He is not the Leader of the Majority. He is not the Deputy Leader of Majority. He is not the Whip. He is not the Deputy Whip and he is not the Chairperson of a Committee. I want to encourage Sen. Osotsi and the members on the Minority side that those are personal comments that should be ignored and treated with the contempt they deserve. Finally, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to advise my good friend, the Senator for Lamu, that when you are being de-whipped from a Committee, it does not have to be because of infidelity. It could be because of incapacity. You are not performing."
