    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No. 53(1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Health regarding claims of mishandling of a KSh3.7 billion tender by the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA) for the supply of treated mosquito nets. In the Statement, the Committee should - (1) Cause an investigation into claims of a bungled procurement process for the supply of treated mosquito nets, stating actions to hold officers involved accountable. (2) Address claims of inconsistencies and discrepancies between KEMSA’s tender evaluation process, which indicate possible manipulation of the rules in favour of specific bidders, disclosing any ongoing internal investigations regarding the issues raised by the Global Fund's review of the tender process. (3) State steps in place to improve transparency and accountability in procurement processes of state agencies, providing medical supplies and services. (4) State interventions, if any, to ensure that the millions of households affected by KEMSA's error, receive the treated mosquito nets they urgently need."
